35 years of Shabnaz, Nayeem’s ‘Chandni’

Popular Dhallywood actors of 90s Shabnaz and Nayeem’s debut movie “Chandni” was released on 4 October in 1991. The movie completed 35 years of its release on Sunday. The actor couple has also completed 33years of their conjugal life on Monday. Their friends, family as well as many celebrities have wished them on social media on the auspicious day.

Reflecting on the 35th anniversary of Chandni and their wedding anniversary, Nayeem told the media, “I can’t imagine how 35 years have passed. It feels as if our debut film, Chandni, was released only a few days ago. The director of the film, Ehtesham, is no longer with us. Shabnaz and I miss him dearly. He was like a guardian to us in the industry, and his contribution to the Bangladesh film industry is unforgettable. On this occasion, we want to pay our respect to him.”

Shabnaz said, “Though we are not working in the film industry now but the industry is like another family to us. We are very happy that after so many years the audience still remember and loves us. We are overwhelmed by them.”

Shabnaz and Nayeem were one of the most popular on-screen pairs in Dhallywood during the 1990s. The duo appeared together in 21 films, including “Sonia”, “Zid”, “Dil”, “Bisher Banshi”, “Chokhe Chokhe”, “Takar Ohonkar”, “Lorai”, “Anutopto”, “Love” and others.

In 1994, Shabnaz and Nayeem got married. Their last film was “Ghore Ghore Juddho”.
