Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Zahir Uddin Swapon has said fascist forces who fled the country and covert forces will join hands to conspire against the BNP and fuel internal party rivalries ahead of the local government elections.

He said the two groups were conspiring to create disorder in the country and urged party leaders and activists to remain vigilant and avoid falling into anyone’s trap of provocation.

The adviser was speaking at a views-exchange meeting with BNP leaders and activists in his constituency, Gouranadi and Agailjhara upazilas of Barishal.

Swapon said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman informed the nation about intelligence reports warning of attempts to create disorder in the country.

He said the prime minister also mentioned attempts to provoke labour unrest in factories across the country.

Calling on party leaders and activists to remain alert, the adviser said they must build firm unity to ensure that no one could weaken the party or obstruct development activities ahead of the local government elections.
