Two bodies recovered in Sylhet

Police recovered the bodies of a businessman and a housewife from separate parts of the city on Saturday noon.

The deceased were identified as Ataur Rahman Shahjahan, 37, a business man of Shibbazar in city. He was the son of late Salamat Ullah of Hatkhola union under Jalalabad Thana,  and Sonia, 17, a housewife and daughter of Rajab Ali of Kaliajuri in Netrakona district.

Jalalabad Thana police recovered Ataur’s dead body from Shibbazar Shahi Eidgah area at around 12 noon. The body, wrapped in a sack, bore several stab injuries, police said.

Kotwali Thana police recovered Sonia’s body from the house of Dr SMIH Jalali’s at Tapoban area in the city. On information, law enforcers broke open the door and found Sonia hanging from the ceiling of a room.

Both bodies were sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical Collage Hospital morgue for autopsy
