Nor’wester kills mother, son in Habiganj

A woman and her son have been killed when nor’wester swept over Nondipara village in Habiganj.

The deceased are Nur Jahan, 35, wife of Fajal Miah, and her son Arian, 6, of Nandipara village.

The incident took place when a branch of a tree fell on their house during the storm on Tuesday night.

Banichang police OC Nirmolendo Chokroborty said: “On information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to Habiganj sadar morgue.”

Meanwhile, vast track of croplands were damaged in Chunargaht, Bahubal and Ajmiganj upazilas due to the storm.
