Housewife commits ‘suicide’ in Chhatak

A housewife allegedly committed suicide by taking poison at Malikandi village of Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj district on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Rokeya Begum, 45, wife of Ekhlus Ali, a resident of the village.

Local people said, Rokeya mother of five children, took poison in her room in the afternoon.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The reason behind the suicide could not be known yet.

Chhatak Police Station OC Harun-or-Rashid confirmed the death.
