15 injured in clash among villagers in Sylhet

At least 15 people, including womeuun, were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over a trifling matter at Katlipara village in Bishwanath upazila of the district on Friday morning.

The injured were identified as Kolshuma Begum, Shajna Begum, Abdul Momin, Akbar Ali, Nizam Uddin, Abddul Hekim, Abu Saeed, Ali Amzod, Mehergul Bibi, Taj Uddin, and mediator Ershad Mia, Ashik Ali, Hason Ali, and Alim Uddin, all resident of the village

Local people said a quarrel took place among children over the distribution of Shirni (fooding) during a function at the village around 9:00pm, and the quarrel eventually turned into a clash between two groups of villagers – one headed by Rajab Ali and the other by Abdul Hakim – later on.

However, the village elders stepped in and resolved controlled the situation.
