Collective organises ‘Campaign to save A level Bengali and introduce in mainstream school’ protest meeting

The Collective of Bangladeshi School Governors organised a protest meeting on ‘Campaign to save A

level Bengali and introduce in mainstream school’ on 5th of May in its office on Princelet Street.

Organisation’s Chairperson and Campaign Convenor M Shahanur Khan presided over the meeting.

Secretary of Collective and Joint Convenor of this campaign Altam Miah conducted this event.

In his welcoming speech, Shahanur Khan emphasised on importance on learning Bengali and other

foreign languages as Modern Foreign Language for the British-Bangladeshi students. He also said

that his organisation has been working hard on ‘campaign for Bengali in primary schools and on

“Esho Bangla Shikhi”.

Guests who took part in the discussion included organisation’s Vice-chair and joint convenor Nasir

Uddin; former Councillor Motin Uzzaman; Convenor of Survival of Bengali Shamim Pavel; Secretary

of Driving Association Siddiqur Rahman and others.

Members who were present at the meeting unanimously re-elected Shahanur Khan as Convenor of

Campaign committee. Nasir Uddin, Alta Miah and Siddiqur Rahman also re-elected as Joint

Convenors. The members of the committee were Delwar Hossain Lebu, Masud Ahmed, Foyejul

Islam and others. Parents who are interested to join the campaign has been urged to contact the

convenors.
