Greater Lamakazi Welfare Association organised a prize giving ceremony for the friendly football

tournament and Iftar Mahfil on 8 July at West ham immigration Event Venue.

Organisation’s President Faruq Ali presided over the event and General Secretary Abdus Salam and

Senior Vice-President Sadiquzzaman jointly conducted it. In the beginning, founder General

Secretary of the organisation Madhu Miah recited from the Quarn and conducted the Duwa Mahfil.

Guests who addressed the audience and took part in prize giving included organisation’s former

President Hiron Miah, former President Dowlot Khan Babul, Cllr Shah Alam, Cllr Shuluk Miah,

Politician Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, Barrister Fazlul Haque, Community Leader Foyzur Rahman,

Ahsiqur Rahman, Angur Ali, Faruq Mahfuz and others.

The speakers mentioned that since the birth of this organisation, this organisation has been working

for the poor and destitute people of the area.  This organisation is also working for the development

of education and health and alleviation of poverty.
