Amar Desh Pathok Mela organises protest meeting in London

9Amar Desh Pathok Mela organised a protest meeting in London demanding the immediate release of Editor Mahmudur Rahman.  In their speech, the speakers said that Mahmudur Rahman has been arrested and forced to stay in prison years after years without any trail.  He is a well-known literary personality of Bangladesh and a former minister and an illegal act of the present government to keep him under arrest.
If Mahmudur Rahman has committed any crime, he should be tried in court; by no means should he be kept in prison without charges years after years.
The speakers demanded immediate release of Mahmudur Rahman without any pre-condition.
The meeting was held in a restaurant in Whitechapel on 27th July. Amar Desh Pathok Mela President Adil Rashid Humayun presided over the meeting and General Secretary Jahed Ahmed Talukdar conducted it.
Editor of Weekly London Bangla K M Abu Taher Chowdury addressed the audience as Chief Guest.  The other speakers at the protest meeting included Special Guest former parliamentarian and member of BNP central committee Dr Rafique Chowdhury, former Secretary of Jamate Islami Sylhet branch Sirajul Islam Shahin, Convenor of Shechchashebok Dol UK part Nasir Ahmed Shahin, Chair of Bangladesh Student Union Ataullah Faruk, Editor of Weekly Bangla Shonglap Moshahid Ali, Amir of Hefajote Islam Europe Muftiu Shah Sadar Uddin, Co Joint Secretary of UK BNP Ajmol Hossain Chowdhury Jabed, Abed Reja, Emdadul Haque, Ataur Rahman Chowdhury, Babul Talukdar, Senior Member of Pathok Mela Mahfuzur Rahman and others.
Imam Uddin Chowdhury recited from the Quran at the beginning of the protest meeting.  The speakers ferociously criticised current government’s policy of harassing journalists and seize the freedom of media and demanded immediate release of all political prisoners.
