BHRC organised its special general meeting

dffHumanist should act without any greed and gluttony and individualism.  To be a humanist, one needs give up his egotism and people who can give up their petty interest and dedicate themselves for the benefit of others, only they can be true humanist.  The speakers at a special general meeting of Bangladesh Human Rights Association UK branch told this.

The meeting was held on 17th July in East London Micro Business Centre.  President of UK branch of BHRC Abdul Ahad Chowdhury presided over the meeting and Ambassador of Human Rights Commission Shahidur Rahman conducted it where the Mayor of Brent Council Cllr Parvez Ahmed was present as Chief Guest.

Secretary General of Bangladesh Human Right Commission Dr Saiful Islam Dildar was gave the welcoming speech.  The special guests at the meeting were Sylhet Divisional Governor of Human Right Commission R K Dhar, Governor of Dhaka North and South Sikandar Ali Jahid, European Co-ordinator Taraul Islam, UK Governor Shahanur Khan, Secretary of Bangladesh Centre Dilwar Hossain and Community Activist Muhibur Rahman Muhib.

Guests who addressed the audience included Journalist Ansar Ahmed Ullah, Alhaj Ustar Ali, President of London branch Jahangir Khan, Secretary of Westminster branch Hifjur Rahman, Secretary of Essex branch Abdul Majid, Vice-president of England branch Foysol Chowdhury, women’s leader Meher Nigar Chowdhury, Haji Abdul Hannan, Shafique Ahmed, Engineer Mosharrof Hossain, Nijam Uddin, Altafur Rahman Mojahid, Helal Chowdhury, Abdul Basit and others.

Secretary of England branch Abdul Hafiz Bokkor recited from the Quran at the beginning of the event.

At this event, Bangladesh Human Rights Commission awards six persons for their dedication to take forward the actions and activities of the organisation. These were Ahdul Ahad Chowdhury, Matiar Chowdhury, Shohidur Rahman, Shahanur Khan, Taraul Islam and Abdul Bakkar.  The awarded persons received crests from BHRC UK branch, which were handed to them by Mayor Parvez Ahmed, Dr. Saiful Islam Dildar, Muhibur Rahman Muhib, Jahangir Khan and Ustar Ali.
