Race and disability hate crime round table event

To mark Black History Month, Tower Hamlets based organisation for disable people ‘Real’ organised Race and Disability Hate Crime Round Table event on 11 October at Jack Dash House, Isle of Dogs. Speakers from race hate crime organisations informed disable people about their services and how they make themselves accessible to disabled people.

Presentations were made were made by Andy Greg from Race on the Agenda (ROTA) and Altab Ali Foundation’s Ansar Ahmed Ullah. Following presentationsWendy Haslam

Disability Hate Crime Project Leader chaired a panel discussion.

The event was attended by local disabled people. Other participants included staff from a range of Hate Crime, police, victim support and disability rights organisations.

Consultation workshop on police 101 phone line was carried out by Mark Healy of Real

Inclusion London. MOPAC consultation was presented by Louise Holden and Changing Faces presentation by Phyllida Swift.

Gypsy and traveller photography exhibition was also on display.
