The team lead by Sister Christine Frost MBE included Lord Michael Cashman CBE amongst its members.
The delegation visited the Refugee Community Kitchen which serves hot, nourishing meals to displaced people before meeting with volunteers at Care 4 Calais who have been helping and delivering aid to refugees in Northern France & Belgium since the start of the current crisis.
Before returning to England the team visited Maria Skobtsova House which is a residence for refugees in Calais.
Food and clothes donations from kind hearted East London residents were passed onto the projects.
Sister Christine Frost commented, “More volunteers are needed for some of these excellent support projects. We were very pleased to meet with team leaders and volunteers to be updated on the great work that they do every day. Some inspiring volunteers have been based at the projects for six months.”
