Govt to procure sugar at Tk 82 per kg from US

The government has decided to purchase 12,500 metric tons sugar spending Tk 66,27,31,250 from United States.

Per kilogram sugar will be bought at Tk 82.85. The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) approved to procure sugar from a company in US.

A meeting of CCGP led by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal was organised in this regard on Wednesday.

Concluding the meeting, Cabinet Division additional secretary Syed Mahbub Khan said on the basis of a proposal given by Commerce Ministry, 12,500 metric tons sugar will be purchased from Technology Management Entrepreneurship using International open tender system.
