7 burnt to death after ambulance catches fire on expressway

At least seven people were killed after an ambulance caught fire following a gas cylinder explosion on the Dhaka-Bhanga expressway in Faridpur’s Bhanga upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Bhanga Police Station OC Ziarul Islam said at about 11:45am, the microbus hit a divider on the expressway in Maligram approach road area losing control and, later, caught fire. All seven passengers were burnt to death.

Critically injured driver of the micro was sent to a  local hospital.

The micronus was heading towards Dhaka.

Police and fire service members are on the scene.
