Sylheti Shipon missing in Italy!

Recently, a young man named Shipan Ahmad (25) of Sylhet’s Biswanath Upazila has gone missing on his way to Italy, a European country. He is the son of Husmat Ali of Palerchak village of Rampasha Union of Shipon Upazila, who has been missing for about one and a half months (missing since May 26).

The family members of the missing Shipon said that about 7 years ago, Shipon, the youngest son of his parents, went to Libya to improve his fortune. From there Shipon disappeared en route to Italy. So they have no contact with Shipon since May 26.

Shipon’s younger sister Ruby Begum said, “In the afternoon of May 26, brother (Shipon) spoke to me (Ruby) on the phone as father was out of the house. Then he (Shipon) told us that he was going to Italy through a local broker named Mamun and asked us all to pray for him (Shipon). And that was our last phone conversation with him (Shipon).”

Husmat Ali, the father of the missing Shipon Ahmad, said, “On the afternoon of May 26, Shipon told my younger daughter (Rubi) on the phone that Shipon was traveling from Libya to Italy through a broker in Comilla named Mamun. After about a month and a half, we can’t find any trace of the ship. Due to which the whole family is spending the day in extreme anxiety. Therefore, the family members are seeking full cooperation from the “Bangladesh Government and Embassy” to find the motherless Shipon.

Advocacy Mohammad Alamgir, chairman of Rampasha Union Parishad of Biswanath Upazila, informed that Shipon is missing on his way from Libya to Italy and said, “If the family wants assistance in finding the missing Shipon, they will contact the relevant authorities and provide full assistance.”
