Child drowns in Sunamganj

A child drowned in a water body at Shantiganj upazila in Sunamganj district on Wednesday afternoon.

The dead was Maha, 6, daughter of Afizur Rahman, a resident of Chandrapur village of the upazila.

It was known that the girl drowned in a water body adjacent to the village while she was taking bath with her two friends.

Family members rescued her and took to the upazila health complex where she was declared dead by the on-duty doctor.

Shantiganj Upazila Health Complex medical officer Dr Afrin Akter confirmed it.
