Man hacked to death in Sylhet

A man was hacked to death reportedly by his neighbour in Biswanath upazila of Sylhet district on Friday night.

The deceased was Delwar Hossain, 35.

Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Biswanath Police Station Ramaprasad Chakraborty said members of Delwar’s family and his neighbouring house locked into an altercation over trifling matter.

At one stage, Delwar was attacked with a sharp weapon, the official said adding that the injured was rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital, where the duty doctor declared him dead.

Following the incident, brother of the victim filed a case. Two people were arrested in this regard.
