Police to arrest accused if joins BNP procession

Police have taken preparation to arrest the warranted accused joining the black flag procession of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Joint Commissioner (Crime) Liton Kumar Saha disclosed the information in response to a question from journalists at the DMP media center in the capital on Saturday.

The official said police only arrested the warranted accused. He said if any accused join the BNP’s programme, police will arrest them. They have taken preparation in this regard.

In response to a question DMP Joint Commissioner said, “Political parties are always carrying out their programmes. We are not obstructing any political programme.”

Meanwhile, BNP is holding a black flag procession at it’s Nayapaltan central office in the capital on Saturday afternoon demanding party’s Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s release and cancelation of current parliament.

The procession will begin from Nayapaltan and will end at Mogbazar intersection via Kakrail and Malibag intersections.

On the other hand, the ruling Awami League also announced to hold peace and democracy rally at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital in the afternoon.
