
A British Bangladeshi television journalist Mohammed Mizanur Rahman Mizan has received the “Outstanding Contribution to Media” award from the North England Bangladeshi TV Journalists Association (NEBTJA) in recognition of his long-standing service to community journalism in the UK
With a journalism career spanning 26 years, Mizan has dedicated himself to reporting community issues since 1999. He currently serves as the Manchester Bureau Chief of Channel S Television, a position he has held for the past 17 years.
Receiving the award in Bradford, Mizan expressed gratitude to the organisation and said the recognition inspires him to continue practising honest and responsible journalism. He dedicated the award to the community he has served for decades.
The event was attended by Zobayet Hossain, Assistant High Commissioner at the Bangladesh Consulate in Manchester, as chief guest, along with several community and media figures.
Two other journalists, Shahan Chowdhury (Channel S Newcastle) and Abu Sayeed Chowdhury Sadi (ATN Bangla UK Liverpool), were also honoured for their contributions to journalism.
