Local singer among 2 killed as bus hits autorickshaw in Sunamganj

Two persons, including local popular singer Pagal Hasan, were killed and three others injured when a bus ran over a CNG-driven autorickshaw in Sunamganj’s Chhatak upazila on Thursday.

The accident happened in the morning in Surma Setu area of the upazila.

The deceased were singer Pagal Hasan, 33, and Sattar Mia, 30, residents of Shimultala village under the upazila.

According to police and locals, five passengers, including musician Pagal Hasan, were going to Chhatak from Doarabazar upazila of Sunamganj by an autorickshaw in the morning. When the vehicle reached Surma Bridge area, a bus coming from the opposite direction lost control and hit it.

Two autorickshaw passengers died on the spot and the remaining three were rescued by locals and taken to Chhatak Upazila Health Complex.

Chhatak Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shah Alam confirmed it.
