Three Rohingyas shot dead in armed groups’ clash in Ukhiya

Three Rohingya men were reportedly hacked and shot dead during a clash between two rival groups Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) and Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO) at Ukhiya camp in Cox’s Bazar on Monday over establishing supremacy in the camp.

The deceased were identified as Md Elias and Md Ishaq and Firoz Khan.

Additional DIG Md Iqbal, commanding officer of APBn-14, said that ARSA members are trying to re-organize and planning sabotage activities in the Rohingya camps.

The clash took place mainly over establishing supremacy in the camp. During the clash seven others were injured at Camp-4 Extension.

Ukhiya Police Station Inspector Shamim Hossain said the bodies of the three Rohingyas were recovered and the injured were sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for treatment.
