Golapganj Awards ceremony held in London

Golapganj Social and Cultural Trust UK, an initiative to honor the distinguished people of Golapganj – Golapganj Awards 2024-25 AD, the organization’s annual general meeting, Eid reunion and enjoyable cultural program were held at a hall in London in the presence of prominent figures from the community.
The event was presided over by the organization’s president, Mohammad Dilwar Hossain, on Monday (April 21) afternoon at the London Enterprise Academy hall in East London.
The meeting was conducted by General Secretary Masud Ahmed Joardar.

Hafiz Tanzid Qadir recited from the Holy Quran at the meeting.
The award ceremony began with the rendition of the national anthem of Bangladesh by the assembled audience.
The organization’s general secretary Masud Ahmed and treasurer Kawsar Ahmed Jaglu presented the organization’s annual and financial reports at the annual general meeting held in the first phase.
For his heroic contribution to the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 and later for his special contribution to the community, freedom fighter Abul Kashem Khan was awarded the Golapganj Award-2024. At this grand event, the guests presented the honorary crest to freedom fighter Abul Kashem Khan.

Veteran teacher Tashour Ali was honored with the Golapganj Award 2025 for his outstanding contribution to the development of education in the UK and Bangladesh over a long career, and the guests presented him with a crest.
Dr. Mohammad Saiful Alam Hannan Jewel was honored with the Golapganj Award 2025 for his long-term special contribution through medical services, and at the grand ceremony, the guests presented the honorary crest to this talented person.
Barrister Saif Uddin Khaled, Speaker of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, was present as the chief guest at the event.
The guests of honor were – Newham Council Chair Rahima Rahman, Harrow Council Mayor Salim Chowdhury, and Barking Dagenham Council Mayor Moin Qadri.
