The written MCQ exam for the 48th Special BCS is being held today (Friday) from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The two-hour exam is being conducted exclusively at various centers in Dhaka.
This special BCS has been arranged to urgently recruit 3,000 doctors for the health sector. According to the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC), 2,700 will be appointed as Assistant Surgeons, and 300 as Assistant Dental Surgeons.
As per PSC guidelines, candidates must report to the exam center between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM. Entry after the cutoff time is not permitted. Only admit cards and black ink ballpoint pens are allowed; carrying any prohibited items may lead to legal action.
The written exam consists of 200 MCQ marks—100 on Medical Science, and 100 on general subjects, including Bangla, English, Bangladesh & International Affairs, Mental Ability, and Mathematical Reasoning.
Candidates who pass the written exam will qualify for the 100-mark viva (oral exam).
