Two individuals were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a pickup van in Bahubal upazila of Habiganj district on Tuesday morning.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be known.
According to locals, the incident occurred at around 8:30 AM in the Mauchak area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway when a Dhaka-bound truck collided head-on with a Sylhet-bound pickup van, causing the pickup driver to die on the spot and injuring one of its passengers.
Being informed by the locals, a team from the Shayesthaganj Highway Police rushed to the spot, rescued the injured, and took him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
An official from Shayesthaganj Highway Police Station confirmed the incident.
