BCB announces squad for U-19 WC

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Friday announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, scheduled to take place from 15 January to 6 February and co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia.

The young Tigers will depart from Dhaka on Sunday night to begin their campaign at the global tournament.

Bangladesh, champions of the 2020 edition, have once again entrusted the leadership to Azizul Hakim Tamim. The right-hander also captained the side in the recently concluded Under-19 Asia Cup, where Bangladesh’s run ended in the semifinals following a defeat to Pakistan.

Bangladesh have been placed in Group B alongside India, New Zealand and the United States of America, setting up a demanding group-stage challenge.
