After being reduced in three consecutive phases, gold prices have now increased in the domestic market. The price of 22-carat gold has been raised by Tk2,158 per bhori, setting the new rate at Tk238,121 per bhori.
According to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) on Thursday (21 May) morning, the new price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk238,121 per bhori (11.664 grams).
The revised rates have come into effect from 10:00am, the release said.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made in response to a rise in the price of pure (tejabi) gold in the local market, taking the overall market situation into consideration.
Under the new pricing structure, 21-carat gold is being sold at Tk227,331 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at Tk194,848 per bhori. Gold produced under the traditional method has been fixed at Tk158,689 per bhori.
