Sylhet rail link snapped after train derailment

Moulvibazar District Correspondent : Rail communication between Sylhet and the rest of the country remained suspended on Friday after a wagon of an oil tanker train derailed inside Lawachara National Park in Moulvibazar district on Friday afternoon.

The derailment occurred at around 3:30 pm between Bhanugach and Sreemangal railway stations in the forest area under Kamalganj upazila.

According to railway sources, an empty wagon of an oil-carrying train travelling from Sylhet to Akhaura went off the tracks, disrupting train movement along the route.

A hydraulic tool van and technical recovery team were being sent to the scene to remove the derailed wagon and restore train operations.
