Three die with measles symptoms, 1,001 suspected cases recorded in 24hrs

Bangladesh recorded 1,001 new suspected measles cases and three more deaths in the past 24 hours, the country’s health authorities said on Sunday.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin, 62 cases of measles were confirmed between 8am Saturday and 8am Sunday, with no confirmed deaths during the same period.

The DGHS said that since 15 March, the total number of confirmed measles cases has stood at 11,011, while suspected cases have reached 92,790.

During the same period, 93 people died from confirmed measles, while 587 deaths were reported among suspected cases.

Besides, a total of 72,849 patients have recovered so far, the DGHS said.
