
The ‘Mirzapore Tea Estate’, owned by Bangladesh’s heritage company Ispahani Tea Limited, has once again won the ‘National Tea Award’ in the Best Tea Estate category based on worker welfare. In addition, Jasmine Akter, a tea worker from Neptune Tea Estate, also owned by Ispahani has received the award for the third time in the Best Tea Leaf Plucker category.
On the occasion of National Tea Day 2026, the National Tea Award 2026 was presented to the winners by the chief guest, Honorable Member of Parliament for Moulvibazar-4, Alhaj Md. Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury. In the category of Best Tea Estate based on worker welfare, the award for Ispahani’s Mirzapore Tea Estate was received by Mr. Mirza Salman Ispahani, Chairman of Ispahani Group, and Mr. Mirza Ahmed Ispahani, Director of Ispahani Group. In addition, Jesmin Akter, a tea worker from Ispahani’s Neptune Tea Estate, received the award in the Best Tea Leaf Plucker category this year.
The National Tea Award is presented as a recognition of significant contributions across various sectors of the country’s tea industry, jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the Bangladesh Tea Board. The ceremony was presided over by the Honorable Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Md. Ataur Rahman Khan, NDC. Also present at the event were Major General Md. Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, SPP, NDC, AFWC, PSC, Chairman of the Bangladesh Tea Board; Mr. Shah Moinuddin Hasan, Chairman of the Tea Traders Association of Bangladesh; and Mr. Kamran T. Rahman, President of the Bangladesh Tea Association. In addition, various individuals associated with the country’s tea industry were also present at the event.
