Bangladesh, Maldives discuss stronger cooperation in tourism, investment and jobs

Bangladesh and the Maldives have discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in tourism, human resources and investment during a meeting between Bangladesh’s Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir and Maldivian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Shiuneen Rasheed.

The Maldivian envoy paid a courtesy call on Humayun Kabir at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon, Dhaka, on Wednesday afternoon.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and a range of issues of mutual interest, according to a press release.

They placed particular emphasis on expanding cooperation in sectors including tourism, human resources and investment.

Humayun Kabir also requested the Maldivian government to expand employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers in the Maldives.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the existing friendly relations between Bangladesh and the Maldives.
