Army chief sees greater humanitarian role for Medical, Dental Corps

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Thursday expressed confidence that the Bangladesh Army Medical and Dental Corps would continue to play a valuable role in humanitarian and service-oriented activities, stressing the importance of integrity, honesty and a strong sense of duty.

He made the remarks while addressing the annual Commanders’ Conference of the Medical and Dental Corps at the Army Medical Corps Centre and School in Ghatail, Tangail.

The Army chief also discussed technological advancement, research, professional skills development and future planning.

The conference was also attended by the director general of the Directorate General of Medical Services, the acting general officer commanding of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, the adjutant general of the Army, and the general officer commanding of the 19th Infantry Division, who is also the area commander of Ghatail.

A number of senior military officials, along with commanders and officers from the two corps, were also present.
