Qatar to halt LNG supplies to Bangladesh, Pakistan till Nov

QatarEnergy has informed Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Italy that liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies will remain suspended through the end of November amid the ongoing instability in the Middle East.

Bloomberg reported Monday that concerns over LNG supplies to Asia and Europe have intensified as disruptions to fuel shipments through the Strait of Hormuz continue. QatarEnergy notified Bangladesh and Pakistan of the suspension this week.

An Indian company and Italian energy firm Edison SpA have also received similar notices. Edison said its LNG deliveries could remain suspended into early December.

Analysts say global energy prices and supplies are unlikely to return to normal until the broader Middle East crisis is resolved, raising fresh concerns for LNG-dependent markets in Asia and Europe.
