Greater London Nabiganj Welfare Association UK organises meeting

unnamed (3)Greater London Nabiganj Welfare Association UK has been working to strengthen the brotherhood of UK residing people Nabiganj. The organisation has been playing an important role for the development of the area too. The speakers told this in an emergency meeting held on 18 February in a restaurant in East London.

Chairperson of the organisation, Alhaj Nehar Miah Chowdhury presided over the meeting and General Secretary Tofajjul Hossain Chowdhury Tuhin conducted it. Guests who addressed the audience in the meeting included Advisor of the organisation and former Mayor of Camden Council Omar Faruque Ansari, Advisor journalist Motiyar Chowdhury, Publicity and Publications Secretary Forhad Chowdhury, Vice-President Najrul Islam, Sports Secretary Shah Golam Morshed, Member Pijush Kuri and others.

The attendees expressed their condolence for the death of prominent businessman and Awami League leader Putul Kuri. Putul Kuri died on 13 February in Nabiganj. He was 82 years old.

President Nehar Miah Chowdhury declared a donation of one Lakh taka for the construction of Guladoba-Madhobpur Road in the meeting. This road is being constructed with the contribution of local people and without any government help or grants. The construction is now on its final stage and will complete soon.

The attendees expressed their gratitude to Nehar Miah Chowdhury for his contribution.
