SUST VC goes on leave

Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) vice-chancellor professor Mohammad Aminul Haque Bhuiyan went on a two-month leave amid the non-stop protest by the teachers.
Mohammad Aminul Haque’s leave application was approved in a syndicate meeting on Thursday morning.
The university authorities handed over the duties of the vice-chancellor to treasurer Ilias Uddin Biswas as acting VC.
On 13 April, 19 teachers of the university claimed the VC misbehaved with them when they went to talk with him for solving the space problems of the academic building.
Later on 20 April, around 35 teachers including Mohammad Jafar Iqbal quit from around 37 administrative posts demanding the removal of the university’s vice-chancellor.
