Arnob releases Khoob Doob in aid of charity

Shayan Chowdhury Arnob has released his sixth solo album, Khoob Doob, through a series of album launching events. He reached15 out to his fans directly and sold the album with autographs. As part of the ongoing drive, he will be at the Jatra Biroti today at 5:00pm. Along with the album, eight black and white paintings, two colour paintings by the artist and eight post cards which were designed by a few school children are exclusively attached. Arnob plans to donate half the proceeds from album sales for reconstruction of a school building in Lama, Bandarban, which was recently damaged in an elephant attack.
Talking about his decision to sell the album directly to the audience, Arnob said: “It is a part of an artist’s struggle to establish a new method of producing, releasing and marketing own album. Whenever we go for any collaboration with some other party for releasing new albums, we face some sort of difficulties. Therefore, I am releasing my new album on my own to enjoy its maximum degree of creative freedom.
“It will help me connect with my listener which will also provide a message to them that I acknowledge their love, expressions, respect towards my music,” he added.
Earlier, the singer began promotion for Khoob Doob in front of the main auditorium of BUET on Thursday. Later, he made rounds in several other popular city points including Aarong, Pathak Samabesh, and Jatra.
He will continue sales promotion until June 3, when he along with the members of his Arnob and Friends band will perform at a charity concert for the victims of the Nepal earthquake titled Bhalo Theko Nepal, to be held at Kolkata’s Nazrul Mancha on June 5.
