SAFF U-19 Women’s Champs: Nepal beat Bhutan to stay in title race

Nepal U-19 Women’s team beat Bhutan U-19 Women’s side by 1-0 goal to stay in the title race of the four- nation SAFF U-19

After a barren first half, Senu Pariyar scored the match winning goal for Nepal in the 54th minute of the dull and hopeless match in front of only 60 soccer fans at the stadium.

Himalayan nation Nepal, which suffered 1-3 goals defeat against hosts and holders Bangladesh in their first match last Friday, will face India on Tuesday in their last league match to decide their fate for the final.

After the match, India dominated the league table securing full three points crushing Bhutan by 10-0 goals while hosts Bangladesh followed India also securing three points, beating Nepal by 3-1 goals.

Nepal are in the 3rd slot securing three points from two matches beating all loser Bhutan 1-0.

Two arch-rivals Bangladesh and India due to meet each other tonight (Sunday night) at 7 pm at the same venue.

In the remaining league matches, Bangladesh will play lowly Bhutan at 7:pm while India will face Nepal at 3: pm, both on Tuesday (February 6) at the same venue.

The final match between the top two teams of four nations meet will be held on February 8 at 6 pm.
