BGB sends back 288 security personnel to Myanmar

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has sent back security personnel,including army men and Border Guard Police (BGP) members, to Myanmar who took refuge in Bangladesh amid the ongoing internal conflict in the country.

They were sent back from the BIWTA ghat in Cox’s Bazar around 6am on Thursday.

Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Shaheen Imran confirmed the matter.

Earlier in the morning, the 288 members of Myanmar defence forces, including BGP and army, were taken to BIWTA ghat in Cox’s Bazar cityby 11 buses.

After that, around 6:30am, they were taken to the Myanmar Navy ship stationed in the Bay of Bengal. The ship will go to through St Martin coast.
