Nipun files writ seeking ban on Misha-Dipjol committee activities

Actor Nasreen Akhter Nipun has filed a writ with the High Court (HC) seeking cancellation of Film Artistes Association election for the term 2024-2026.

She also sought a ban on the committee led by Misha Sawdagar and Monowar Hossain Dipjol from performing its duties.

Nipun’s lawyer Palash Chandra Roy submitted the petition on Wednesday with the court of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Kazi Zinat Haque bringing allegation of irregularities and vote rigging.

Earlier, the Film Artistes Association election was held on April 19 where Misha Sawdagar has been elected as the new president for the term 2024-2026, while Monowar Hossain Dipjol as the general secretary.

Dipjol clinched the general secretary position with 225 votes, surpassing Nipun Akter who received 209 votes, falling short by 17 votes.
