Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested former deputy minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy.
According to the DMP’s statement, Arif Khan Joy was arrested on Monday night from the capital’s Dhanmondi area. He was shown arrested in a murder case filed with Mohammadpur Police Station.
He will be produced in the court on Tuesday (August 29) seeking remand.
Arif Khan Joy was elected Member of Parliament for three consecutive terms from Netrakona-2 constituency. In the last national election, he was elected as a member of parliament wearing the eagle symbol.
