Train services of Sylhet with other parts resumed after around three hours’ of suspension following derailment of ‘Udayan Express’ in Moglabazar.
Kalni Express train left Sylhet for Dhaka after 9:30AM on Tuesday.
Earlier at about 6:40AM, the Udayan Express derailed in Sylhet’s Moglabazar, snapping the rail links between Sylhet and the rest of the country, according to Nurul Islam, manager of Sylhet Railway Station.
The train was heading from Chittagong to Sylhet when four carriages, including the locomotive, derailed in the Moglabazar area.
A relief train from the local station was sent to the site which salvaged the derailed bogies.
