Sylhet Titans registered a comfortable six-wicket victory over Noakhali Express on Monday in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), powered by a stunning five-wicket haul from left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Winning the toss, Noakhali Express opted to bat, with newly arrived Soumya Sarkar and Habibur Rahman Sohan opening the innings. However, their batting line-up collapsed early as Nasum provided the breakthrough in the power play by removing Soumya. Sohan scored 18 runs before being dismissed by Khaled Ahmed.
From there, Noakhali lost complete control as Sylhet’s bowlers tightened their grip. Mahidul Islam Ankon added 25 runs, but Noakhali Express were bundled out for just 61 runs.
Nasum was the standout performer, claiming five wickets for only seven runs in his four overs.
Chasing the fourth-lowest total in BPL history, Sylhet lost Parvez Hossain Emon early to pacer Bilal Sami. Tawfique Khan struck a quick 32 off 18 balls, while Zakir Hasan added 24 runs to seal the chase. Sylhet reached the target with 68 balls remaining.
Nasum Ahmed was named Player of the Match.
