A new organisation named the “France-Bangladesh Business Forum (FBBF)” has been officially launched in Paris with the objective of strengthening commercial relations and building an economic bridge between France and Bangladesh.
The announcement was made during a press conference held on Friday evening in the Aubervilliers area of the French capital, where the forum’s goals and future work plans were detailed.
Comprising Bangladeshi businessmen, entrepreneurs, and professionals residing in France, the organisation is designed to function as a non-political and development-oriented platform.
During the event, a 45-member executive committee was announced, featuring Juned Ahmed as president and Saiful Islam as general secretary. In a written statement presented by the general secretary, the leadership emphasised that their primary mission is to foster a robust relationship between the business communities and investors of both nations.
A key highlight of their agenda includes taking initiatives to revive closed factories in Bangladesh, subject to government approval and necessary cooperation, which is expected to create new employment opportunities and boost both domestic and foreign investment.
The forum also aims to facilitate the export of high-quality Bangladeshi products to European markets, particularly focusing on France. Beyond trade, the organisation intends to provide business consulting, networking opportunities, and technical assistance to new entrepreneurs based in France.
Leaders further noted that the forum will host regular business meetings, seminars, and trade fairs to encourage the younger generation toward entrepreneurship and innovation. Those involved believe the platform’s success lies in uniting expatriate Bangladeshis through mutual cooperation and making them active stakeholders in the national economic development.
The “Meet the Press” event was attended by a large number of journalists representing satellite television, print, and online media, who raised various questions regarding investment and the future plans of expatriate entrepreneurs.
Other prominent members of the forum, including Shah Jamal, Dr Mohammad Kamrul, Altafur Rahman, Faisal Ahmad, Abdul Mukit, Jisad Rahman, Faruque Ahmed, Safiq Ullah Swapan, and Faruque Hossain, were also present at the conference.
