PM Tarique Rahman leaves Beijing for Dhaka

Before his departure, Tarique Rahman was accorded a formal farewell at the airport by the Chinese government in accordance with state protocol.

Earlier in the morning, the Prime Minister held a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Prior to that, Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, called on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the same venue.

The premier arrived at the Great Hall of the People around 9:30am after paying tributes at Tiananmen Square.

The meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping began around 10:30am local time (8:30am Bangladesh time), Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said.

Prime Minister’s Office Spokesperson Mahdi Amin said the two leaders discussed a wide range of issues related to Bangladesh-China relations, including trade, investment, infrastructure, connectivity and other areas of mutual interest.
