By Motiar Chowdhury:

London: Under the initiative of Hindu Aid UK, a relief distribution and

livelihood rehabilitation program was successfully conducted on Friday, July 3,

2026, at Amritangan in the Barishal district of Bangladesh, as part of the relief

and livelihood rehabilitation initiative. Under this program, a commitment was

made to stand by helpless and disadvantaged families, as well as to enable

them to become self-reliant in the long run. Ujjal Debnath conducted this

program, which was held with the overall cooperation of the Sanatani

Vidyarthi Sansad. As the event commenced with a sacred recitation by Swarnil

Swarga Maitra, Suchishmita Maitra, the Youth Coordinator of Hindu Aid UK,

performed a devotional *bhajan*.Swarnil Swarga Maitra accompanied him on

the guitar. Manik Mukherjee and Mukul Chandra Mukherjee delivered

speeches at the event. Their addresses highlighted the importance of unity,

empathy, and a collective sense of responsibility in social service.

Those who arrived at the relief camp reaffirmed their full support for the humanitarian

activities of Hindu Aid UK.

As part of this relief program, 16 destitute families were provided with various

essential food items—including rice, lentils, and onions—to help them

overcome their immediate food crisis. Alongside emergency relief, and with

the aim of fostering long-term self-reliance, two families received the

necessary goods and materials to expand their small businesses under a

livelihood rehabilitation program, while another ultra-poor family was

provided with a sewing machine to establish a sustainable source of

income.Speaking on behalf of Hindu Aid UK, Youth Coordinator Suchishmita

Moitra stated that the organization would continue to stand by the needy in

the future and undertake humanitarian initiatives that not only provide

immediate assistance but also help families become self-reliant and build a

secure future.

Hindu Aid UK expresses its gratitude to all volunteers, donors, and prominent

members of society—including the Sanatani Vidyarthi Sansad—for their direct

and indirect cooperation in implementing this program. Through the collective

cooperation of all, helpless families have received not only emergency relief

but also the opportunity to get back on their feet. This is what constitutes

service to humanity.
