Bangladesh lose 1-0 to Singapore

Bangladesh suffered a 1-0 defeat to Singapore in their second match after also losing to Malaysia in the group stage.

Haris Stewart scored the only goal in the 35th minute with a header from Noor Adam Abdullah’s cross.

Bangladesh improved significantly from their 3-0 defeat to Malaysia, enjoying around 50 per cent possession and taking 11 corners compared with Singapore’s three.

However, Bangladesh managed only one shot on target, while Singapore had six from 10 attempts.

Bangladesh created several chances in the second half but failed to find the net. Shamit Som came close with a header from Saad Ahmed’s cross, but it went narrowly wide.

The defeat leaves Bangladesh without a point after two matches at the bottom of the group. They will face Indonesia in their final group-stage match on Thursday.
