US President Donald Trump has vowed to end the ongoing war with Iran “very soon, by any means”, warning that Tehran must reach an agreement or Washington will end the conflict through military action.
In an interview with Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN), Trump said, the war could end “perhaps the easy way”.
Meanwhile, the conflict has taken a new turn after two oil tankers caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the two crude oil tankers caught fire after hitting mines in the strategic waterway.
Gulf countries have also condemned an attack on a Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessel on Friday.
Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts are underway to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said discussions with mediators were ongoing over a two-day plan to reopen the strategic waterway.
He expressed hope that the United States would show enough wisdom to pursue diplomacy.
Trump renewed his warning that the war would end soon, saying Iran must agree to a deal or face US military action to bring the conflict to an end.
