A fundraising dinner and networking meeting was held for All Party Parliamentary Group’s Chairman
Conservative Party MP Anne Main. A huge number of businessmen and Conservative party leaders
were present and managed to collect a substantial fund for the next election where Anne Main is
competing.
The fundraising dinner and networking meeting was held in a local restaurant in St Albans on 19
January. Chairman of Conservative friends of Bangladesh Mehfuz Anam conducted the event and
organisation’s Honorary Vice-Chairman Rafath Khan presided over it.
Among the guests who addressed the audience were Abdul Hannan of Bangladesh High Commission,
Anne Main MP, former President of BBCC Mukim Ahmed, Deputy High Commissioner Khandokar
Mohammod Talha, First Secretary Sayem Ahmed, former MP candidate Shahgir Bhakth Farque, MP
Candidate from Barking Mina Rahman, Enam Chowdhury of Conservative Party, Shah Abdul Haque
Tarek, Mohammod Abdus, Yafor Ali of BBC, Shahnoor Khan, Selim Chowdhury, Shamsul Islam,
Jomjom Rashid, Alaur Rahman and others.
High Commissoner Abdul Hannan mention Anne Main as a friend of Bangladesh and said that she
has played an important role in order to develop the relations between two countries.
Mukim Ahmed urged to elect the conservative party candidates in the coming election. He also
donated five thousand pound to run the campaign of Anne Main. BBCA Leader bought the boat
souvenir with 1000 pounds which was given to Anne Main MP by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
