Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina eulogised the growing development of Bangladesh football and stated that country’s football would reach at international level soon. “The popularity of football in Bangladesh would be increased across the grassroots through organising such types of tournament. Our boys will also be inspired from it,” Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stated this while distributing prizes of Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital yesterday.
Expressing her optimism, Prime Minister said, “By improving the standard Bangladesh football will reach at international level.” Prime Minister congratulated both finalists. “Congratulation for Nepal on their success and many thanks for Bahrain.” The Premier has come at the Bangabandhu National Stadium during the period of the second-half of the final match of Nepal and Bahrain and witnessed the exciting match. Bangladesh was not in the final but there were no lack of zeal and exuberance amongst the local fans and football loving people of the country. They supported both teams and inspired them on the stroke of the important attack and counter-attack throughout the final match. Finance minister AMA Muhith, state minister for youth and sports Biren Sikder, deputy sports minister Arif Khan Joy, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin and others high-up were also present on the occasion.
