Ishraque’s supporters block Nagar Bhaban’s main entrance, services suspended

Several hundred people have taken positions in front of the main entrance of gate of Nagar Bhaban, halting the customer services.

Today (Sunday) is fourth consecutive day of protests to demand that BNP leader Ishraque Hossain be handed over the mayoral office of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

The protesters as per their pre-planned programme, began to gather at the DSCC offices from different parts of Dhaka around 9AM under ‘Dhakabashi’ banner.

Ishraque Hossain’s supporters chanted different slogans like, ‘Swear in, swear in of Ishraque bhai’, no delay of the swearing-in, people’s mayor Ishraque bhai’.

DSCC officials and employees have not been able to enter the office since Sunday morning due to the protest.
