12 more die from measles, symptoms

Twelve more children died from measles and related symptoms in the 24 hours till Thursday morning, taking the total death toll to 336 since 15 March.

Among the deaths, one child succumbed to confirmed measles infection, and 11 other children died from suspected measles or measles symptoms. Half the deaths were reported in Dhaka division, including the confirmed measles death.

During 8am Wednesday-8am Thursday, 1,524 others were diagnosed with measles and symptoms.

Among the cases, 286 were confirmed measles patients, and 1,238 others were patients with symptoms.

Since 15 March, 57 children have died from measles and 279 others from measles symptoms.

Since 15 March, 6,208 patients have been diagnosed with measles and 45,498 others have been diagnosed with related symptoms.

Among the total caseload, 31,912 patients have been hospitalised of whom 28,238 returned home following recovery.
